Every August, San Jose Jazz Summer Fest turns downtown San Jose into one big outdoor music weekend. The 2027 festival is set for Friday to Sunday, August 13 to 15, 2027.
What to expect
Live music on multiple stages around downtown San Jose, from jazz and blues to R&B, soul, funk, and Latin.
A mix of big-name headliners and Bay Area talent, with food and drink vendors throughout the festival grounds.
A lively, all-ages crowd, especially on Saturday.
The 2027 lineup and ticket details have not been announced yet. Watch summerfest.sanjosejazz.org for updates.
Planning tips
Buy passes early once they go on sale. Multi-day passes are usually the best value.
August afternoons in downtown San Jose are hot. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and water.
Skip the downtown parking hunt: rideshare in and out, or drive to a VTA light rail station.
San Jose Jazz runs shows most weekends from fall to spring at its own venue, the SJZ Break Room, if you are in town outside festival season.
Make a weekend of it
Spend Saturday morning on the Los Gatos Creek Trail before the music starts.
Sunday brunch in downtown Campbell, or the Campbell Farmers' Market on Campbell Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Staying at the Carlyle Hotel
The Carlyle Hotel in Campbell is about 15 minutes from downtown San Jose, close enough for an easy ride to the festival and quiet enough for a good night's sleep after it. Its 38 Queen Anne-inspired rooms make it an intimate base for the weekend. Book direct at carlyle-hotel.com.
